On learning about the fire incident that had razed down a cluster of thatch houses on friday at Burma Camp bazaar, Hon’ble Chief Minister, TR Zeliang rushed to the spot this morning to check up the occurrence first hand. Expressing his sadness over the unfortunate incident, the Chief Minister assured the affected families and Elders of the area present at the spot that all possible measures would be taken up. While donating Rs. 10,20,000 as immediate relief for the affected families which was handed over to the District Administration, the Chief Minister termed the incident as ‘very unfortunate’. A total of 102 families who lost their homes to the ravishing fire would get Rs. 10,000 each from the amount even as Nagaland State Disaster Management Agency (NSDMA) and the District Administration have been directed to immediately start assessing the ground realities for further necessary actions.
